The Ballycatter Model WC-ESP Dual Grip 7” Packer is a hydraulic-set, dual-grip production packer designed for electric submersible pump (ESP) completions in 7” casing. Engineered for high-load applications, it incorporates bi-directional barrel slips that securely anchor the packer against both upward and downward forces, ensuring reliable zonal isolation in high-pressure well environments.
The pass-through section allows seamless integration of ESP power cables, maintaining an uninterrupted electrical connection to the pump below the packer. The single-piece mandrel construction and Acner Array Packing Element enhance durability and resistance to extreme temperatures and corrosive fluids. Additionally, the packer includes NPT chemical injection ports and a vent valve port, facilitating chemical treatments and pressure equalization.
The hydraulic setting mechanism is activated by applying tubing pressure against a plugging device, mechanically locking the packer in place for long-term sealing integrity. The dual-grip anchoring system provides increased stability, making it ideal for high-flow rate production and injection wells. The packer can be retrieved using straight pull release, ensuring efficient removal and minimal well disruption.
